I’d love to know your name because, after all, what is a blog like this for if it isn’t for growing friendships (even virtual ones) as we sit around this make-believe campfire and talk about the things that light up our days and bring a little smile to our hearts. In the absence of knowing names at this point, I hope it’s ok if I imagine that you love reading, maybe even writing a little and that you have some dreams hiding somewhere inside you that you would love to bring out into the world.

About the Author

Just to introduce myself and this blog. My name is Alan and as you’ll discover I have been on a fun journey writing The Jar of Dreams ever since it arrived in a dream, halfway up a mountain in the Himalayas. I had never planned to become an author, but after the dream, writing has become one of the biggest joys in my life. Every morning, I can’t wait to wake up at sunrise and step into the lands in The Jar of Dreams (now the Dream Chronicles series) and see who and what is waiting for me there.

In this blog, I want to share this twenty- two year (plus) journey with you in the hope that it waters a little seed of inspiration in you, to follow whatever dream it is that you have. Because, one of the biggest lessons that The Jar of Dreams has taught me is that life is better when we carve out time each day, or week, to give our best shot at bringing a little dream we have to life.

Thanks again for joining me here. I hope to make this blog entertaining and inspiring for you. It has been a rich adventure writing, editing and publishing The Jar of Dreams so I have much to share. Below are a few topics I'll include. If you have any questions, or you'd like me to delve into other topics, drop me message and I'll do my best to include it. 

BTS Entertainment

The entertainment part is in creating portals into The Jar of Dreams. To kick things off, I'll share exclusive peeks into the novel here that you won't find anywhere else. These will include:

• The characters and their backstories
• The places in the Lands of Vaniya
• Naz-Dzek and The Spirit Realms
• The mystical elements in The Jar of Dreams

I aim to keep these blog posts as spoiler free as possible, but if you prefer to keep everything as a surprise for when you open the cover to The Jar of Dreams for the first time, best not open blogs entitled 'Portal.'  

BTS Writing Tips and Life Lessons

Over the last twenty-two years since I began writing, I have lived in the Himalayas, spent time in monasteries, lived on a remote island off the coast of Belize, become a ghost-writer with Penguin Publishing and have worked with some of Australia's most successful editors. These experiences have taught me so much and I am excited to share much of this with you.
